Woke around 0800 with a bit of a cough, but got a decent night’s sleep. Got up and checked the garden gate…Lynne had come home late and had merely draped the padlock over the gate latch…will have to show her how it’s done! Simple enough, surely!?! Aki cooked breakfast. Drove to Camden so Aki could get herself some compost. Did a bit of a shop at Waitrose on the way home. Came home then walked up Hornsey Rise to Crouch End. Bumped into Six and Julia. Popped in to the kitchenware shop and bought the Robert Welch steak knives I’d spotted on Thursday. Had a snack at a cafe on Park Road. Bumped into Jude Chalk outside…she’d been busy with the get in for Pal Joey at the Tower. Walked home. Had a chat with George and Katherine who were gardening in front of No.127. Got home in time to catch the Grand National…my each way bet pulled up with about 5 fences to go, and my bet to win could only manage third place. Cooked roast chicken dinner with Greek lemon and garlic roast potatoes and vegetables, with a cheese walnut sauce. Watched a bit of telly before bath and bed…
