Not a great night's sleep...very dry throat, which triggered some coughing early on. Removing my CPAP mask seemed to help, and I nodded off. Alarm at 0730. Aki got up and unlocked the garden gate. She brought me a mug of tea. Got up and porridged. Put lunch together...omelette and salad. Aki scooted off to Brixton, with camera and tripod in tow...intending to photograph the completed flat refurbishment she's been working on. I took a walk over to Stroud Green. Caught a bus there to Crouch End, and had a wander around. Put a bet on a couple of horses in advance of Saturday's Grand National, then found myself in a kitchen cookware shop looking at pestle and mortars. Spotted some steak knives which match our Robert Welch cutlery. Didn't buy anything, but resolved to go back with Aki in tow. Walked back through Crouch End, and up Crouch Hill, where I caught a No.91 bus back toward Holloway. Got off at Tesco and bought some milk, then walked home. Aki got back about half-an-hour later. She seemed happy with her refurbishment, and the photos look good. Aki cooked a fish curry, which we ate with rice and naan. Watched a documentary fronted by Brian Cox on the Mars rover mission...very interesting. Amazing images of the red desert. Padlocked the garden gate, only to hear someone come in through the front door a few minutes later. I opened our door expecting to find Lynne, but it was her nephew's partner, Beth, and her dog Ziggy...I asked them how they'd gotten in...she said she had long legs and had simply stepped over the garden gate! Bath and bed...
