Saturday 8th April 2023

Woke at 0230...breathing uncomfortable, but managed to get back to sleep eventually. Woke again around 0730...had to get up and sit up...made a mug of tea. Sat on the sofa watching videos on my iphone for a bit. Prepared breakfast, which I cooked up once Aki had risen. Nice day. I walked up to the Farmers Market to buy bread, but it wasn't on today...Easter break! Got a loaf at the Green Room cafe. Bumped into jane and Carlos in the street...they invited us over for a drink on Monday. In the meantime, we were invited for coffee and pastries at No.49 by Andrew and Kathleen. They gave us a tour of their maisonette. Nice roof terrace, which Kathleen has decorated with a bit of cod Gaugin. They have a ground floor flat, which they had given to a Ukrainian refugee and her young son, but it turns out they had returned to Odessa at Christmas, and had decided to stay put for the moment...must be difficult! Returned home. Aki did some gardening. I vacuumed. Aki cooked a tasty pork tenderloin stir fry, followed by cheese and biscuits. Watched a bit of telly before bath and bed...
