Wednesday 7th February 2024

Aki up at 0730 to ready herself fo Rowing Club. I got up at 0815. Sat at the computer for a bit. Porridged. Aki cycled off. I got a packed lunch together and headed back to Elephant & Castle to try and get into a few more flats at Dover Buildings. Traffic slow over Tower Bridge. Parked up at Tesco and did a little shop in there before walking to the Estate. Got into five or six...pretty depressing. One basement flat had chronic black mould to bathroom walls and ceiling. Then it was on to Streatham. Ate my lunch in the car in a residential street off Streatham High Road. Ended the day on a large 19th Century housing estate in Battersea, now a Conservation Area. But the houses are very small, with bathrooms off the kitchens. Drove home at dusk, the route taking me over Waterloo Bridge. Got home at 1830. Chicken and bean stew tonight. Watched some of the Villa v Chelsea FA Cup replay. Kath had sent yet another horrific looking photo of dad's right foot, so I rang him to see how he was...he seems in good fettle, and insists he's in no pain, and therefore content to avoid having to sit in A&E for hours on end...not entirely convinced this is a good strategy, but he won't be persuaded otherwise. Bath and bed...
