Sunday 28th January 2024

Woke around 1000. Aki made tea. Read in bed for a bit before getting up and cooking brunch. Caught a No.91 bus to Kings Cross, and walked along the Regents Canal to Coal Drops Yard. Popped in to Paul Smith's to try on some gloves, my leather pair having gone missing. Then walked down to St Pancras to pick up my altered trousers from Gant. Popped into the British Library to enquire after Dickens' theatrical reading scripts, but no-one around to advise me on a Sunday. Caught the No.91 home. Lunched on peanut butter and toast. Spoke to Nic Campos about his play...he wants me to participate in a read through, and I said I would...planned for mid-March. We took a No.43 bus down to Angel. Aki wanted to pop into Uniqlo, then we ambled up Chapel Market to St Silus Church for a concert by the Angel Orchestra, an amateur concern, in which Katherine from No.127 is involved as part of the choir, and Ben from No.38, on his violin. They had rehearsed up Mozart's Requiem in D minor yesterday, and bearing in mind the frighteningly short rehearsal period, gave a very enjoyable rendition. We had a wee chat with the neighbours, before repairing to Liman, a Turkish restaurant across the road from the church. I had the moussaka, and Aki had grilled lamb and rice...it was OK, but nothing to write home about. We walked down to the Caledonian Road and caught a No.91 bus home.
