Aki woke to alarm at 0530. I was barely aware of her getting up...she left to catch her train to Gatwick at 0630. I got up around 1000. Porridged. Pottered about doing some general admin...applied for my Freedom Pass, and for a Global Health Insurance Card, which has replaced the old EU card. Switched on the tennis at 1330. The little pocket rocket from Italy, Jasmine Paolini, made it through to the final in three arduous sets...she never gives up. She'll meet Krejcikova in the final on Saturday. Defrosted some pizzaiola sauce for dinner, with tagliatelle and some vegetables. Did an hour's work on some of the Kinks songs...it's hard going. Aki FaceTimed from a bar in Porto, where she was having a sherry with Kearsey and Becky. Their flight out of Gatwick had been delayed two hours due to heavy fog in Porto! They head east on the train tomorrow morning to rendezvous at the start of their three day rowing adventure on the Douro. Watched the penultimate episode of "Ripley" on Netflix before bath and bed...
