Woke around 0715...managed to doze back off. Got up at 0830 and descended to the kitchens to make tea, and prepare cereal. Ate with mum and dad at the dining table. Ordered my new guitar from Sam McClaren...await invoice for hefty deposit! Aki and I walked down to the village, via the old railway line. Nice walk...the trees are very mature, and everything seemed very verdant. Did some shopping in Waitrose, then walked back up Callerton Lane and Eastern Way, cutting through at the top onto High View. Mum had put together an open sandwich lunch. Did some prep in the kitchen for tonight's meal...had planned a vegetarian dish, spring green pesto and linguine, but then got word that Jim and Emma weren't coming. Went ahead with it anyway, jazzing up Jamie Oliver's recipe by adding walnuts and basil to the mix. Ate at the dining-table...Kath working, so planned to eat when she got back around 2000. Watched some Olympic coverage on the telly before shower and bed...
